Jerry: The path that brought me to New Life is certainly a story that only God could have written. Born in Turlock, raised in Ballico at McConnell State Park, I was able to enjoy all the outdoor adventures that would define the things I enjoy to this day. Swimming, camping, hiking, fishing, bike riding, just basically being outdoors. Add to that my love of all sports, including anything 49er, and you can get a pretty good picture of what I am all about. I have been an athlete my whole life, playing basketball in Ballico, at Livingston High School and also for Merced College. Over time, I evolved into being a coach and a parent volunteer in community sports programs. I have coached High School Varsity Basktball and Soccer, little league, and been the organizing force behind the Little League and Youth Soccer Associations of Lake Don Pedro. As a young man, I had the good fortune of getting hired by PG&E. It became my lifelong career until I retired after 37 years in 2016. All of these life experiences have given me pretty good communication skills and a heart for people.
It was in Don Pedro that I met and married my wife Francine and together we have three children. It was also there when I truly felt God's call on my life as a servant. I began working in our local church as a Youth Sunday School teacher, youth leader and camp counselor. We moved to Mariposa in 2010 when my son was a sophomore at Mariposa High School. Since then, I have continued to work as Youth director as well as in Men's Ministries. I also serve as an Elder. I am truly humbled by the way God has used me to further His Kingdom, in Mariposa and more specifically at New Life Christian Fellowship. I am excited to see what God has planned for me as I continue to seek His leadership and direction for my life. May all the glory be to Him.
Francine: Hi, my name is Francine Lettmann. I have worn many hats over the years, both in church and apart from it. I have worked with children as a home daycare provider, Sunday School teacher, VBS director and teacher, youth leader, taken kids as a counselor to Children’s Camps and also youth to Centrifuge Youth Camps. I was a cheer leading coach, a Girls’ Varsity Basketball Coach, ran snack shacks for our local Little League and Youth Soccer Associations. I have worked at High Schools, been a Church Secretary, and been on Worship and Praise teams since 1995. Most recently, I retired after working 6 years for John C Fremont Healthcare District in Mariposa. I started as a file clerk, worked as a biller, and ended up doing cash posting and payroll. Like I said, many hats.
I have been married to my husband, Jerry, for 17 years and we have a blended family of three children and three grandchildren. We feel so blessed to be living and serving in Mariposa.
I truly believe that God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called and I have experienced that for myself over and over through the years. He has equipped and empowered me with administration, management and musical skills. I like to work behind the scenes to get stuff done and I am more than happy to be using those skills at New Life Christian Fellowship where I serve on the Worship Team, as a Youth Group leader and as the Board Secretary.
